Xinting Yuan (born in July 1944, Shangdong, China) is the founder of "Iron Frame Skyhorse" and "Iron Seal Characters". Immersing in family tradition,
Mr. Yuan begun to paint since childhood and got involved in many fields such as
poetry, calligraphy and seal cutting. Since 1970s, he has been engaged in teaching
and making art works. As a member of China Artists Association, he is former
standing director of China Calligraphers Association, vice president of Hong Kong
Pearl River calligraphy and painting institute, distinguished professor engaged by
Guangdong Calligraphy and Brushwork Seminar.
Mr. Yuan has over 3000 works published in more than 300 domestic and abroad
publications. There are 13 kinds of monograph, which includes "Xinting Yuan Painting
and Calligraphy Collections" (Volume 1-6), have been issued. His works have been
selected for national and international art exhibitions. The Great Hall of the People
(China) and many oversea art institutions and individuals in American, Europe, Japan,
Korea, Taiwan have collected his works.
His painting and calligraphy forge new distinguished, but not kitsch images, which
absorb from classical and modern arts and are innovated by his creative minds;
His works are a hybrid of decoration and realism, blend of painting and literary.
His avant-garde exploration and experiment have promoted the reform and
development of Chinese painting and calligraphy.
Especially in recent years, his creative works of "Iron frame Skyhorse" and
"Iron Seal Characters" enrich contemporary painting and calligraphy world with
majestic, aggressive, elegant and refined styles. Audiences are always inspired by
his magnificant horses, which have strong personalities such as powerful, swift,
masculine and heroic.
